Pokéballs in Diamond/Pearl
Just a quick guide to the different types of Pokéballs in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. Nothing too flash.Pokéball
The obvious one; it is the most common and weakest Pokéball. Prof. Rowan's assistant will give you five of these beauties at the start of the game.Where?:Other than what I said above, Pokéballs can be purchased from any PokéMart for $200.
Great Ball
Still your average Pokéball, but it has a slightly higher catch rate than a regular Pokéball.Where?:In PokéMarts after you obtain 3 gym badges (Defeat Veilstone Gym), it costs $600.
Ultra Ball
Again, an average Pokéball, it has a slightly higher catch rate than a Great Ball and a much higher catch rate than a Pokéball.Where?:In PokéMarts after the collection of 5 gym badges. (Defeat Hearthrome Gym), it costs $1200.
Master Ball
The ultimate Pokéball. This ball has a 100% catch rate- In other words, the Master Ball will catch any Pokémon without fail. Even if it has full health.Where?:Here's the snag. There's only one of these in the entire game. It is located in the Team Galactic Building in Veilstone City. Galactic Boss Cyrus gives it too you.
Premier Ball
Exactly the same as a Pokéball (except it's funky white and red design xD).Where?:Buy 10 Pokéballs from any PokéMart and the cashier will give you one of these stylin' Pokéballs for free!
Net Ball
A Pokéball introduced in Ruby/Sapphire. It has a higher catch rate of Bug and Water type Pokemon. (You know, because you catch them in a net! xD)Where?:Oreburgh City and Floaroma Town are the only cities where you can buy these Pokéballs. They cost $1000 a piece.
Nest Ball
This is a handy little device that helps capture lower level Pokémon. The lower the level of the wild Pokémon, the better the chance of capture.Where?:Eterna and Hearthrome Cities are the only two places to buy this Pokéball. These cost $1000 each.
Timer Ball
Another Pokéball introduced in the 3rd generation. The Timer Ball becomes more effective (at capture) as the battle goes on. The more turns you've taken in battle, the more effective this Pokéball will be.Where?:Celestic Town and Snowpoint City are the only two places to buy this Pokéball. Timer Balls cost $1000.
Repeat Ball
This Pokéball is for those people who like to double up. The Repeat Ball works better on Pokémon that you've caught before.Where?:Canalave City and the Pokémon League are the only two places where you can buy these Pokéballs. These also cost $1000 each.
Dive Ball
This Pokéball has a higher catch rate when used against a Pokémon who lives in the water.Where?:The only way to obtain this sucker is to help out at the Pokémon News Press in Solacean Town. (The place that asks for a Pokémon to do a story on every day.)
Safari Ball
This isn't really included, as you can't use this kind of Pokéball through the whole game. The purpose of the Safari Ball is to capture Pokémon in the Great Marsh (aka. The Muddy Safari Zone in Pastoria City). They can only be used in the Marsh.Where?:The Great Marsh. Once your Safari is over, you must return your leftovers.
Luxury Ball
The Luxury Ball makes a comeback in D/P. It works the same as a Pokéball, but the Pokémon caught with it will grow to like you faster than usual.Where?:Sunyshore City and the Pokémon League are the only two places where you can buy this Pokéball. One of these will cost you $1000.
Heal Ball
A new one; the Heal ball restores the HP and heals status conditions of the caught Pokémon. Definitely useful if you want to use the Pokémon straight away.Where?:Jubilife and Oreburgh Cities are the only two places in which you can buy this Pokéball. It’s also one of the cheapest, at only $300 each.
Dusk Ball
One of the best new additions, in my opinion; the Dusk ball works better at night or when in a cave (or any other dark place)Where?:Solacean Town and Pastoria City are the only two places where you can buy this Pokeball. It costs $1000, but it’s definitely worth the price.
Quick Ball
A half reincarnation of the Fast Ball from G/S/C, the Quick Ball offers a higher catch rate the less time you spend in a battle. (Kind of the opposite of the Timer Ball). These are really useful for running Pokémon such as the legendary Mespirit.Where?:Pastoria City and Celestic Town are the only two places where you can purchase these Pokéballs. To buy, it will cost $1000.
...and that's it. Hope you had more fun reading this than I did writing it. xD
